The main thing seen from the list below is the fact that the latest President, Obama, is not really in the list, i.e. in the year 2000 there were less than 100 Obamas living in the United States. Just in case, according to Wikipedia, Obama is an African (Luo) surname. The origin of the name is based on the Luo verb that means 'to be bent' or 'to be twisted. ' It is not an uncommon Luo surname. The name comes from Swahili and refers to members of the Luo tribe who converted to Islam. |
